Meet Your Host, Aya.

Nagomi Local Experience was born from a simple realization: It is hard to truly 'meet' Japan.
I'm Aya. I've traveled to over 20 countries—from the deserts of Australia to the cities of Europe—and I know the feeling of being an outsider. Seeing beautiful things, but missing the human connection. I didn't want visitors to my home country to feel that way.
I grew up in this 80-year-old traditional home in Kaizuka, just minutes from Kansai International Airport. I know every creak of the tatami, every corner of the garden, and every story the walls hold. With my background in international relations and marketing, I bridge the language gap and open our home to the world.
I speak English. I welcome questions. And most importantly, I welcome you.

Tradition
80+ years of heritage in our Kaizuka home. We live where we host.
Connection
Real relationships, not tourist transactions. You are a guest in a real home, not a venue.
Understanding
We bridge cultures through shared experiences and meaningful conversations.
Nagoshi Somen (流しそうめん)
On the last day of June, Japan holds the Nagoshi no Harae—a purification ritual to cleanse the first half of the year. In our home, we celebrate with Nagoshi Somen.
Thin, ice-cold somen noodles flow down bamboo channels filled with cool water. Guests catch the noodles with chopsticks as they glide past—a joyful, refreshing ritual that connects us to centuries of Japanese summer tradition.
